My Year of Joy.

At the beginning of each year I always try to pick a word that I want to describe what I want out of the year. This year I felt like it should be joy. Joy is everlasting, a constant state vs. happiness can be fleeting. This year I wanted to tap into more of what fuels me, what excites me, and do more of THAT. This year is a year of learning what I like vs what society tells me I like. Even through difficulties each year can bring, I can still be joyful!

This year so far, I have started to tap into figuring myself out in my decor, style, and hobbies. Living in a state where everything is fairly new, and all things are either boho or western.. I have felt out of place. I have been fighting the urge to join the crowd and discover what makes me, ME. So this is what I know so far.. My biggest passion is all things vintage and old. I love character and the stories an item can tell. I love ornate architecture and furniture. I love all things pink, green, pearl white, and blue.. Flowers and floral prints are pretty much a personality trait of mine. I have also found that I have an obsession with dresses, tulle, and oversized blazers. Most importantly, I LOVE TO TRAVEL. The best part of this year is, we have/will be doing a lot of traveling and that has been already so inspiring.

For the rest of this post, I would love to share with you some photos and memories from this year of things that give me joy and have inspired me. I hope they can do they same for you. ❤️

Starting with the Taylor Swift concert.. everything about this night was perfection.

I have also discovered some new local gems here in AZ that are worth mentioning. For my birthday, we spent it up north at the new High Country Motor Lodge and it is worth a stay! Another fun spot is the Rose Garden bar in downtown PHX. From pretty glass ware, to perfectly over the top decor, this place will be on my list of places to continue to go.

This past April we finally had the privilege to go to Europe. We spent 23 days going between France, England, and Amsterdam. There will be so many posts coming in the future on our trip, but all I can say is that it was everything and more. I have discovered that being in England and France I felt like I was home. I’ve always heard people say that some places make them feel alive and now I finally get it. Whenever we travel I am always excited… But this was different. I genuinely felt like I left part of my heart in both of those countries.

I can’t wait to continue to share our recent experiences with you all! For now, I encourage you to find joy in your day to day and dive deeper into who you are and what gives you joy.

xoxo, Mallory
